Product Description

All that we are is the result of what we have thought. If a man speaks or acts with an evil thought, pain follows him. If a man speaks or acts with a pure thought, happiness follows him, like a shadow that never leaves him.

- Buddha
He is the "The Buddha of Infinite Light." Amitabha lives in the Pure Land of the Western Heaven in an existence of limitless and infinite happiness. He is most highly revered in Japanese culture where he is known as Amitofu. The Sutras of Mahayana Buddhists claim him king in a remote period of time, but he renounced his kingdom and became a monk.

His empathy for the misery of all human beings moved him to make 48 vows, promises to delay his enlightenment until he could establish the Pure Land where all could be liberated from their human suffering. It was centuries before he could complete all these vows. Along with Avalokiteshwara and Mahasthampraptta, he forms the Western Trinity. In this Buddha statue he is seen in the meditation pose, hands together in the Samadhi mudra. This statue should be faced west.

The dimensions of this resin statue are 7 x 4 x 4.
